Everyday Stylistas: Jewel

So last week Sunday I went to church (as I always do). Not in such a good mood though... I had a couple things on my mind and on top of that, my weekend was about to end .. Sigh.... But after I got in and was greeted by warm smiles, cheery hello's and tight hugs, I felt muuch better... Not to mention being run over by some TOTAL Stylspiration. You know how we Caribbean folk get dressed for Church! Ahh!

There were a couple hot mama's but this one stood out to me the most! Hope you love it as much as I did.
Here she is... Jewel! ( Definitely a Gem!)

(She didnt't want me to show her face in this pic, I dont know why though. She's MADD Gorgeous!)

She wore this over-sized, translucent white button up blouse, which had huge sleeves and matched it with a straight, mid length, wheat colored  skirt, accentuated with a thin gold belt.

Three words:
Clean, Simple and Effortless.
Thats Glam!

Oh! And her beaded necklace was a chick way to add a little color. It has a few notes of olive green, mustard and yellow. Not too loud of course.

I think the ensemble also worked well with her skin tone. What do you think?
Her beautifully curled locks! I think I might bust my dreds just now! Lol. They're just beautiful and I know I've been permed for years now but I still think Nothing beats Natural. (  Can I get an Amen Ella?! ;)   )

To put the icing on such a fab cake, she worked black jeweled heals with a matching jeweled clutch.
LOVE!!!( People who are close to me would know I'm a sucker for blingy sparkly stuff :P) Another added plus for me is the height of the shoe. They are just a few inches off the ground which makes them comfortable while still sexy. Who says a girl cant have both?!?

I REALLY loved this outfit. Every piece worked together beautifully. I only wish I had a better camera to bring better pictures to you guys. Soon though! I'm working on it ;)

The Journey: Me -25 pounds

So... one of my goals for this year is to loose 20 - 25 pounds. Yes, quite typical I know.
In the early months of the year: January , Feburary and March gyms get PACKED because getting in shape TOPS everyone's list of "New Year Resolutions" and then, some months later, membership shrivels and the dream if fitting into that tiny bikini becomes for something else.... BUT NOT THIS TIME. This year, instead of making "New Year Resolutions" (which by the way never really work out for me :/ ) I decided to just make some simple goals, which include the time I want to get them done by and how I  plan to do it.
*what I think works well is having them somewhere you can see them often like on your mirror and also to make a journal of your journey

So..
The Journey: Me- 25 pounds
By When: June
How: By becoming a member of a gym, eating better, drinking more water and HARD WORK

How its going: TERRIBLY! :(  I've been going to the gym for about 4-5 times a week. Drinking water and I cut eating tons of stuff and guess what the result is.... NOTHING. I have not lost 1 pound! I actually GAINED a few ounces. :'(  WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!?!?!?

It says 180.6 and earlier today it was 181.  :(
Sooo embarrassed. When I muster up enough courage to put up a body shot I will. Prolly by the next up date later this month.

Of course I can give several excuses for why I'm fat but that won't help me. The job is the just get rid of it.

New Plan of Action:
No meals just before bed: This is a Terrible habit I have. You know when you stay up too late and then hunger start to bit and you gobble down til you're stuffed then hop into bed? NO! That Definitely Stops
Doing a Full Body Cleanser: Its the 30 day regimen that was suggested to me by the lady at Zoe's total body. Its some natural pills that will clean your colon and your whole digestive system aswell as your blood. That should jump start my weight loss.
Work even Harder: Yes!!!! Right now I'm doing mainly Cardio... so now I'll add a bit of weight training and maybe do some jogging in the morning.

PLEASE ANYBODY if you have any suggestions or words of encouragement PLEASE SHARE. I'd appreciate it sooooo much.

Will update in the next 30+ days. Wish me Luck!

Lime Lights!

 Hi Guys!

I took this photo, and a couple others (of course!) two Sundays ago as a result of.... BOREDOM. Yes. That happens to even me. I was going out of my mind! Like seriously. I think I need to find a good book or something.... :/  Fortunately, it was only stage 1 type Boredom, so I wasn't urged to do something crazy. :)

Later on that week, I was inspired by those same pictures to do this manicure. I hope you like ;)
Its Minted by Revlon and OMG I love this color! I was actually in hot pursuit of a shade like this when I went on vacation and this is the only color I found that fit what I was looking for.

The color is just what the name suggests. A creamy minty blue green. I just love it! HOWEVER, application was Torture! It started out very streaky so I ended up putting on about 3 sometimes 4 coats. And worse, I had to sit FOREVER for it to dry. I learned that hard way though. Smearing it all over my clothes, or just looking down at my hands to see my mani ruined. I ended up using enough polish to do about 3 manis. UGH!

(Please excuse the cracks and few streaks of blue ink (from work) I had this mani for about a week already. So its actually time to change it.) On my index finger I have Lime Lights by Sally Hansen over Minted. Its a REALLY pretty sparkly blue green color as well. When I bought it, I was hoping for a opaque finish but its a glaze so I was sort of disappointed, but oh well. That too took a while to dry. Sigh...

Overall, the mani looked Okay but It'll take me a while to muster up the patience to use this polish again. :(

See you guys soon. Bye for now!
