That Blue Hue

Goodday Mates!
Well this Summer heat is starting to set in. Things its time for me to pull out my sun screen and get a darker shade of foundation! Well today I'm sharing some photos of this simple mani that I find just cute. Its ColorClub's Factory Girl and this Creamy Baby Blue is just Gorg! The B picked this out for me last week as a gift for loosing two pounds that week! YAY! Looking at it keeps me motivated. He's not the only one crazy about this color. Like every where I go people keep going "Ohhhhh! I love that color!" so I it seems he had a good pick. He comes along with me on my shopping excursions err now and then so I'm guessing he should come more often.

It gave me a bit of trouble to apply. First coat was made streaky. But it ended up being an easy two coater.

This color is just sooo resfreshing! And its simply beautiful on its own. MUST SEE more of it for the Summer!

My Pink Cheetah Matte

Hey lovies!

Its been forever yes I know! But I promise not to be away again for so long! Its finally Summer! And I have a lot of fun stuff played so we'll keep in touch!

I've had this mani done like MONTHS ago but I finally got the time to post.

I finally got my hands on my first Matte nail color and I LOVE IT! Its from LA Girl MATTE collection, Matte baby pink (I see the name isn't that much fun.. it goes straight to the point), but I LOVE IT!

I paired it with Sally Hansen's Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Wet Cement (one of my fav's) and got all Jungle with it! Came out to be a really fun mani! I think even my brothers thought it was cool.

Made it a little bit more fun by adding some dots with some other brights colors I had. ( unfortunately i didn't have a dotting tool nor tooth pick so... my dots aren't so clean, aaaaand I forgot lost my top coat so my Konad print is fading :(   )

I got the inspiration from some photos of WAH Nails. They're truly awesome! Become a fan!

Toodles!

Red.

 ♥

Rojo... Rouge... Red! The color that says soooo many things! A symbol of strength, life, death, love and romance, anger and frustration, warnings, celebrations... gang affiliations and political connotations....and the list goes on. Red steps into the room and everyone stares. BUT everybody knows (or should know) that red isn't always suitable for everyone or every occasion. Here's my go at it....

Sorry for my web cam pic (its acts very cheap unlike its cost $$$) But thats how it went. Red lipstick can be very intimidating... well lipstick on a whole (for some of us) It took me some time to Really consider wearing it. My first time trying it actually was at Miss St. Kitts 2010-2011.

My girlfreind Norma Jean B♥ introduced me to it then, and for the night... it looked great, but it still took some time... So... last Thursday I had to perform "Right as Rain" by Adele at Island Xpression. (BTW if you haven't heard Adele's new album "21" GET OFF MY PAGE AND GO LISTEN TO IT RIGHT NOW!!! Its Beautiful!) and all I could imagine wearing was a black and red ensemble. So on my way home I decided to grab and non-pricey lipstick and nail polish from LA colors. For those who are in my stage.. the testing level, I'd encourage you to start with an inexpensive lipstick, so that you can try it a few times and allow yourself to get comfortable in it and see if its "you", if you end up not liking it or it doesn't suite your lips/face, discarding it won't hurt that bad.

And I've been so excited about wearing these babies!

Here's the top I put on first...

But I ended up wearing this dress I got on gojane sometime ago for like $6 :D!

I think it worked out well actually. I wont say it can be a just average day color but I'll pull it out every now and then ;)

All a need now is a pair of Red Killer Heels!! And guys, I really do like gifts ;)
p.s I'm a size ten
Til next time!

Covered in Diamonds!

Pow!

So Sat'day I went on my normal 2 hour trip to Basseterre. It was a pretty beautiful day but normally I only want to get In, get my stuff, and get Out. The B said that we had plaaaanned to go get ice cream but I had noooo recollection of the conversation, and besides, that would throw me off my already delinquent path on plan ME-25 pounds.

Anyho'! One of the top Stuff on my list was this Gorgeous Deep Voilet (with micro-sparkles) Nail Polish from ColorClub that I spotted the week before. I mean it was soooo gorg! I was practically thinking about it all week AND it was B approved, and that speaks volumes.

I got to the store and sure enough, the color (Electronica) was still there. HOWEVER my eyes caught this BEAUTIFUL sparkling bottle. (NB: I am a SUCKER for ANYTHING that Sparkles! I'm sooo serious! Thats my weakness...) I haaaaad to get it!

I've never owned a polish from ColorClub but I must admit, I Am Impressed. Goes on beautifully and is easily a two coater. AND I can get 2 of them for about the same price as one from OPI. :)

Covered in Diamonds is a little bit tricky because its thick and full of this super shimmery thin strips of plastic. So you'll have to handle it well. But once its done you'll love it.

I think Nail Polish from ColorClub just might be my New Love! ;) ♥

P.M.S.=Please Makeit Stop

Ugh!
Doesn't our dear Mother Nature know how to Eloquently WRECK A DAY and SCREAM her Grand Entrance with a whole Marching Band as she CRASHES a party Ever So Well?

Well, obviously, from my intro you Should be able to tell by now, that We don't get along well. And I know... I know... I have been going through this since I was about 15 but gosh! I just haven't gotten the "hang" of it yet. MAYBE.. just Maybe, if she were to be just a tad bit more... more courteous and let me know in advance the exact date and time ooooorrrrr better, we could have a meeting and discuss when its more convenient for me but Nooooooooo. It has to be on HER terms! UGH! We will definitely NEVER be friends.

Soooo this time, SHE decided to show up when I'm hanging out at my Pukie's place. How lovely?!?! AND if that wasn't bad enough, I woke up the next morning to crimson colored panties. (Smiley face!)

I mean, I'm happy and all to know that I'm healthy and they're are possibilities for me to have kids and have a family in the future.. and  I do understand its role in being a woman... But Come On! Give me a Break sometimes Nuh! Chuh! All the Cramps, Bloating, Cravings, Mood Swings, Extra Self Consciousness, Fatigue... isn't that just a little bit too much??

I'm officially "Liking" the "I hate my period" Page on Facebook.
Cheers to being a Woman! :|

A Good MAN-darin is Hard to Find

Well its Spring time (in the Caribbean it feels like Summer) so its already Hot Hot Hot! The sun is starting to come up early and the days are just Beautiful! (not if you're being outdoors though... unless you're on the beach ofcourse!) Sooo... being inspired by the day, I decided to add a little heat to my nails!

Its OPI's "A Good Man-Darin is Hard to Find" ! Lol. And that is Ever So True!
Its a Vibrant Red-Orange and I just Loooooove it! And as always the OPI formula is smooth, opaque and dries quickly, an easy two-coater.

(sorry for my little mess on my hand, I really didn't see that while I was taking the photo)

Being in this Spring Spirit I added some Jazz with a Flower and Butterfly konad print (m51 & m78) along with some Butterfly stickers I got sometime ago....

 Isn't Spring Time just Beautiful!!!!

 Love Love!

Everyday Stylistas: Jewel

So last week Sunday I went to church (as I always do). Not in such a good mood though... I had a couple things on my mind and on top of that, my weekend was about to end .. Sigh.... But after I got in and was greeted by warm smiles, cheery hello's and tight hugs, I felt muuch better... Not to mention being run over by some TOTAL Stylspiration. You know how we Caribbean folk get dressed for Church! Ahh!

There were a couple hot mama's but this one stood out to me the most! Hope you love it as much as I did.
Here she is... Jewel! ( Definitely a Gem!)

(She didnt't want me to show her face in this pic, I dont know why though. She's MADD Gorgeous!)

She wore this over-sized, translucent white button up blouse, which had huge sleeves and matched it with a straight, mid length, wheat colored  skirt, accentuated with a thin gold belt.

Three words:
Clean, Simple and Effortless.
Thats Glam!

Oh! And her beaded necklace was a chick way to add a little color. It has a few notes of olive green, mustard and yellow. Not too loud of course.

I think the ensemble also worked well with her skin tone. What do you think?
Her beautifully curled locks! I think I might bust my dreds just now! Lol. They're just beautiful and I know I've been permed for years now but I still think Nothing beats Natural. (  Can I get an Amen Ella?! ;)   )

To put the icing on such a fab cake, she worked black jeweled heals with a matching jeweled clutch.
LOVE!!!( People who are close to me would know I'm a sucker for blingy sparkly stuff :P) Another added plus for me is the height of the shoe. They are just a few inches off the ground which makes them comfortable while still sexy. Who says a girl cant have both?!?

I REALLY loved this outfit. Every piece worked together beautifully. I only wish I had a better camera to bring better pictures to you guys. Soon though! I'm working on it ;)

The Journey: Me -25 pounds

So... one of my goals for this year is to loose 20 - 25 pounds. Yes, quite typical I know.
In the early months of the year: January , Feburary and March gyms get PACKED because getting in shape TOPS everyone's list of "New Year Resolutions" and then, some months later, membership shrivels and the dream if fitting into that tiny bikini becomes for something else.... BUT NOT THIS TIME. This year, instead of making "New Year Resolutions" (which by the way never really work out for me :/ ) I decided to just make some simple goals, which include the time I want to get them done by and how I  plan to do it.
*what I think works well is having them somewhere you can see them often like on your mirror and also to make a journal of your journey

So..
The Journey: Me- 25 pounds
By When: June
How: By becoming a member of a gym, eating better, drinking more water and HARD WORK

How its going: TERRIBLY! :(  I've been going to the gym for about 4-5 times a week. Drinking water and I cut eating tons of stuff and guess what the result is.... NOTHING. I have not lost 1 pound! I actually GAINED a few ounces. :'(  WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!?!?!?

It says 180.6 and earlier today it was 181.  :(
Sooo embarrassed. When I muster up enough courage to put up a body shot I will. Prolly by the next up date later this month.

Of course I can give several excuses for why I'm fat but that won't help me. The job is the just get rid of it.

New Plan of Action:
No meals just before bed: This is a Terrible habit I have. You know when you stay up too late and then hunger start to bit and you gobble down til you're stuffed then hop into bed? NO! That Definitely Stops
Doing a Full Body Cleanser: Its the 30 day regimen that was suggested to me by the lady at Zoe's total body. Its some natural pills that will clean your colon and your whole digestive system aswell as your blood. That should jump start my weight loss.
Work even Harder: Yes!!!! Right now I'm doing mainly Cardio... so now I'll add a bit of weight training and maybe do some jogging in the morning.

PLEASE ANYBODY if you have any suggestions or words of encouragement PLEASE SHARE. I'd appreciate it sooooo much.

Will update in the next 30+ days. Wish me Luck!

Lime Lights!

 Hi Guys!

I took this photo, and a couple others (of course!) two Sundays ago as a result of.... BOREDOM. Yes. That happens to even me. I was going out of my mind! Like seriously. I think I need to find a good book or something.... :/  Fortunately, it was only stage 1 type Boredom, so I wasn't urged to do something crazy. :)

Later on that week, I was inspired by those same pictures to do this manicure. I hope you like ;)
Its Minted by Revlon and OMG I love this color! I was actually in hot pursuit of a shade like this when I went on vacation and this is the only color I found that fit what I was looking for.

The color is just what the name suggests. A creamy minty blue green. I just love it! HOWEVER, application was Torture! It started out very streaky so I ended up putting on about 3 sometimes 4 coats. And worse, I had to sit FOREVER for it to dry. I learned that hard way though. Smearing it all over my clothes, or just looking down at my hands to see my mani ruined. I ended up using enough polish to do about 3 manis. UGH!

(Please excuse the cracks and few streaks of blue ink (from work) I had this mani for about a week already. So its actually time to change it.) On my index finger I have Lime Lights by Sally Hansen over Minted. Its a REALLY pretty sparkly blue green color as well. When I bought it, I was hoping for a opaque finish but its a glaze so I was sort of disappointed, but oh well. That too took a while to dry. Sigh...

Overall, the mani looked Okay but It'll take me a while to muster up the patience to use this polish again. :(

See you guys soon. Bye for now!

Be My Valentine...

So, this past Monday was Valentine's Day. Whooooopeeeeee!!!!!      :|

Anyho! I did these nails like the first week in February.... and I was not inspired by Valentine's Day. Honestly, I don't even see reason to celebrate Valentine's day. I couldn't care less about the flowers, teddies, chocolates and other "love expressing" (money grabbing) paraphernalia exchanged around that time. If someone Really loves you and makes the effort to show you that love often, Valentine's Day wouldn't have that much of a significance. That's just My perspective.

This must be my Favorite Nail color Ever! It's "I Think In Pink" by OPI. (Sorry, my painting is a bit messy there)

On my Ring finger I tried out Color Craze "Infrared" (pink) and "Star Light"(sparkle), both by L.A.Colors. And I must say, for being so cheap (about $5XCD) they work pretty well. "Infrared" started out a bit translucent but after the third coat it was just fine, and it wasn't thick, so I dried nicely. (sorry, my photos were taken with my brothers BlackBerry and Yes I love Hello Kitty!!)

I used konad plate m73 and m78.
